Q: What's in it for EasyquoteUK.com? - where do you make your money?

A: The Easyquote service is free to people looking for a trade professional - anyone can use us to match their job needs with our qualified trade professionals.
EasyquoteUK.com benefits in three ways:

We supply work to our Members as another great benefit of their U.K. Trades Confederation membership.
Charging trade professionals a small fee for the Insurance Backed Guarantee policies.
Charging related companies to advertise on our website.

Q: Where do you get references for trade professionals?

A: From people like you. To become a member of the Quality Assured trade association, trade professionals must allow us to vet them and take the names of 3 referees at random from their work files. We then check these out independently. When contractors become members of this service, their performance is regularly appraised by their new clients - reporting back to us.

Q: What happens if I don't get a suitable trade professional?

A: It is possible that some requests in some areas will be difficult to match at first. When this happens, we will do our best to recruit new, vetted trade professionals to meet your needs as quickly as possible. We hope that you will bear with us as we develop this service.

Q: I'm not sure about giving out my contact details to lots of builders. Won't I be pestered with calls?

A: No. We give your name and telephone number to no more than three trade professionals, and give their details to you. You then call them to arrange an appointment. They may also call you.

Q: Once trade professionals are registered are they lifetime members?

A: No. We monitor performance regularly and if they fall below our standards - whether from a credit, legal or reference point of view - we rescind their membership.

Q: What happens if a trade professional does a bad job?

A: EasyquoteUK.com's careful vetting should make this a very rare occurrence. However, if you do have any issues with the trade professional during the job our free conciliation service can help to resolve matters. If an issue is discovered after the work has been completed and paid for, we will help you to get the original trade professional to put it right, or the Insurance Backed Guarantee will take over if he or she is no longer trading.

Q: Can you supply a list of trade professionals so I can choose one myself?

A: The value of our service is in matching you with the most appropriate trade professionals who specialise in your chosen project. Also our matching service will only pair you with trade professionals who are available to do your job to your timescale, saving you and them the hassle of numerous fruitless calls. If you just require a list, simply call our national helpline 020 8842 4442 or E-mail us.

Q: I'm interested in your service but want to speak to someone from EasyquoteUK.com. Who can I speak to?

A: Call us on 020 8842 4442 and we'll be delighted to help.

Q: Why not pick a contractor from the phone book?

A: This approach can be very time consuming and fruitless if none of the contractors are available, and may even result in you using a 'rogue' contractor with all the associated issues. With EasyquoteUK.com you know that each trade professional who contacts you has been vetted and recommended, and is available and qualified to do your job.

Q: How does EasyquoteUK.com protect customer information?

A: When you submit your project information, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of all information submitted to prevent any unauthorised access (as required by the UK Data Protection Act 1984). This security means that we occasionally require proof of identity before disclosing sensitive information to site users.
